STAR Program

The New York State STAR Program allows a reduction in assessed valuations for school taxes.  Any residential taxpayer who owns and resides in a house, co-op, or condomium is eligible to apply for this reduction.  There may be an additional savings for eligible Senior residents who are at least 65 years of age and earn an annual income of $70,650 or less.

Once you complete your application and forward it to the local assessor's office, you will be approved for a significant reduction in your assessed valuation.   In order to qualify for a reduction in September 2007, the application must be received by your assessor before JUNE 1, 2007.

If you have not already completed your application for the STAR reduction, please contact your local assessor's office to obtain an application.  If you live in the Town of Mt. Pleasant, call 742-2345.  If you live in the Town of Ossining, call 762-8274.  If you wish to receive this reduction, it is imperative that you take the necessary steps to complete and submit the application before JUNE 1, 2007.

It is the obligation of the Briarcliff Manor UFSD to inform you of your rights under the STAR Program, but it is your local assessor who is responsible for implementing the program.
